Not at the beach, in the picnic areas or in any building: DEC keeps pets out of its day-use areas. Leashed (6 ft max) in the campground. On the Escarpment Trail beyond, under control and leashed when others approach. Open roughly May to October; check the season before driving.
Two lakes on the Catskill escarpment with the old Catskill Mountain House ledge a short walk away - the view the entire Hudson River School was painted from.
