Storm King Art Center

No — dogs are not allowed No dogs at Storm King Art Center. Its Visitor Policies say: "For the safety of your pet and site, please leave your pets at home. Only ADA Service dogs are welcome. Emotional support or therapy dogs are not permitted." That applies across the whole site — car park included — with no dog-friendly hours, days or seasons. Don't confuse it with Storm King State Park, which is a separate place a short drive away run by NYS Parks; if that's your plan, check its rules separately, because they are not the same organisation and not the same policy.

Where dogs ARE allowed

Nowhere on the 500-acre site. The Visitor Policies page draws no distinction between the car park, the shuttle, the museum building and the sculpture fields — it is a site-wide pet-free policy, with no seasonal, off-peak or event exception found. Only ADA Title III service dogs are admitted, and the policy goes out of its way to exclude emotional support and therapy animals by name.

Managed by Storm King Art Center (private non-profit open-air museum, New Windsor NY). Official pet policy. Checked against that page in August 2026.

We publish this because finding out at the trailhead is worse than finding out here. Rules change — check before a long drive.
